A tiny, humble, and resource-efficient RSS reader.
Ketzel Pretzel is written by an eternal student at Stanford, completely from scratch in vanilla JavaScript with zero third-party dependencies. It is profiled and optimized to be responsive, never jank your browser, and handle thousands of feeds with minimal memory footprint. The extension size is just 10 KB.
Ketzel Pretzel is completely client-side with hardened security and privacy and no tracking, with a tight CSP, HTTPS autoupgrade, no-referer and no-opener policy for external resources. And you can use your cookies to access protected feeds, such as reddit, without giving away your credentials to a third party.
Both light and dark modes are supported.
The extension is available for $29 as a one-time purchase, with updates included.
There are two options:
https:// into the input field at the top and press
enter. In case of an error, hover over the input field to see the
error message.
If a web site offers multiple feeds, the first one is added. To add a specific feed, find the URL for the one you want in the page source and add it via the input field at the top.
The feed list is always kept sorted as follows:
Feeds within each group is sorted alphabetically.
Click on any feed to see its entries. This also resets the new entry counter.

Very old entries are pruned after a 300 entry threshold is reached to keep the list tamed.
Press Ctrl+R or right click anywhere and select Refresh All in the context menu.
Right click on the feed title or its icon to see the context menu.
Start typing in the input field at the top to filter your feed list based on the title.
Use old.reddit.com because the new reddit does not offer RSS feeds.
Paste the channel URL to subscribe to its RSS feed.
Shorts are excluded.
YouTube RSS servers often start returning 404/500 errors in the evening (PT), but always go back to normal later. Please ignore these errors.
